Program Manager – Financial Institution Merger (Contract)<br><br> Location: 100% Remote<br><br> Contract Duration: 9 Months<br><br> Work Authorization Requirement: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a W‑2 basis. This position does not offer visa sponsorship now or in the future.<br><br>If you have hands-on experience owning merger programs within financial services and thrive in complex, fast-paced environments, this role offers the opportunity to make a visible and lasting impact.<br><br> About The Role <br><br><ul><li>We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to support a large-scale financial institution merger within a highly regulated environment.</li><li>This role is focused on hands-on program execution, ownership of complex workstreams, and delivering results across technology, operations, compliance, and business functions.</li><li>This is not a general project management or coordination role. Candidates must have direct, verifiable experience managing mergers within banks, credit unions, or regulated financial services organizations.</li><li>Profiles limited to task tracking or meeting facilitation will not be considered.<br><br><br></li></ul> What We’re Looking For <br><br> This role requires someone who is: <br><br><ul><li>Highly execution-oriented and comfortable working in the weeds</li><li>Experienced managing complexity, regulatory constraints, and high level stakeholders simultaneously</li><li>Accountable for full program ownership, not support or coordination only</li><li>Confident engaging with executive leadership in high-visibility environments</li><li>Experience supporting financial institution mergers or acquisitions is required and non-negotiable.<br><br><br></li></ul>Key Responsibilities<br><br><ul><li>Own and manage merger program workstreams, timelines, dependencies, and risks across multiple functional areas</li><li>Build and maintain integrated master plans, dependency maps, and RAID logs</li><li>Coordinate activities related to Day 1 readiness, integration planning, and post-merger stabilization</li><li>Partner closely with technology, operations, compliance, risk, legal, and business leaders</li><li>Track and report program status through clear, concise executive-level updates</li><li>Identify risks early, drive mitigation plans, and escalate issues appropriately</li><li>Support governance routines including steering committees, working groups, and executive forums</li><li>Ensure all merger activities align with applicable regulatory and compliance requirements<br><br><br></li></ul>This role requires comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving merger environments with multiple parallel workstreams.<br><br> Required Experience (Must Have) <br><br> Candidates must meet all of the following: <br><br><ul><li>Direct experience supporting mergers or acquisitions within a financial institution (bank, credit union, or regulated fintech)</li><li>Proven program-level ownership (not just project coordination or support)</li><li>Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams (technology, operations, compliance, data, business impacts)</li><li>Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., NCUA, FDIC, OCC, or state regulators)</li><li>Strong experience creating and managing:</li><ul><li>Integrated program plans</li><li>RAID logs</li><li>Dependency tracking</li><li>Executive reporting materials</li></ul><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams</li><li>Experience with the Fiserv DNA core banking platform<br><br></li></ul>Nice-to-Have Experience<br><br><ul><li>Credit union–specific merger experience</li><li>Exposure to core banking integrations, data migrations, or digital channel integration</li><li>Experience stepping into an in-flight or distressed merger program</li><li>PMP or equivalent certification (not required)<br><br><br></li></ul>Tools & Ways of Working<br><br><ul><li>Experience with standard PM tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, Excel, ServiceNow, or similar</li><li>Comfortable working in matrixed organizations with multiple vendors and partners</li><li>Strong documentation, communication, and executive presentation skills<br><br><br></li></ul>What This Role Is Not<br><br><ul><li>Not a purely strategic or advisory role</li><li>Not a PMO coordinator or note-taker role</li><li>Not a fit for candidates without prior financial institution merger experience<br><br><br></li></ul> Job Type & Location <br><br>This is a Contract position based out of Tukwila, WA.<br><br> Pay And Benefits <br><br>The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $90.00/hr.<br><br> Requirements <br><br>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
