UC San Diego Health has held its Magnet status since 2011.<br><br>Jacobs Medical Center 5FG is a 24 bed Medical Oncology/Palliative Care Progressive Care Unit. Several disciplines collaborate to provide prescribed oncology care including chemotherapy and biotherapy. The unit is also designated as the overflow for Blood and Marrow Transplant patients. The nursing team is dedicated to care for patients who need aggressive symptom management. They work closely with a multi-disciplinary palliative care team, implementing a holistic approach to physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual well-being.<br><br>The Nurse Residency Program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs. This program is designed to support Newly Licensed Registered Nurses with a comprehensive transition-to-practice experience through enhanced clinical learning, hands-on skill training and so much more!<br><br>Under general supervision, the New Grad RN identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations. Directs and acts as resource to other members of the nursing team as assigned. Promotes compliance and support of policies.
