<b>Overview</b><p><b>Server Build Engineer (Maritime)</b></p><p><b>Warrington – Travel is essential</b> (Weekend Work & Overtime required)</p><p>Able to work in a multi-discipline environment managing multi-thread projects often in hostile environments where 9-5 is not applicable. In partnership with the MOD, the Maritime Project is currently delivering solutions onboard vessels in timescales considered very challenging. The role will require wide experience in all areas of industry hardware products including CISCO, Riverbed, HP, Panasonic, XEROX, Epson, Dell, APC & OKI etc. A working knowledge of Microsoft and VMWARE is also essential to implement various customer solutions (from factory to vessel). You will also be able to present Fujitsu in the best possible manner to customers.</p><p>Our purpose is to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. As a Maritime Delivery Technical System Engineer, you will contribute to this by conducting all technical aspects as required by the Maritime Project to ensure the required solution has been implemented to a high standard.</p><b>Responsibilities</b><ul><li>Your role will involve conducting all aspects of hardware & software activities within the Maritime environment, covering activities either in factory or on customer site (naval dockyards, etc.).</li><li>Deliver solutions across the software build environment, hardware installation onboard vessels, followed by data migration & support phases.</li><li>Participate in the formal handover to the customer and be part of the Onboard Engineering Support team to ensure a smooth transition into Live Service at multiple locations in the UK and worldwide.</li><li>Report directly to the Maritime Delivery Technical SMEs (Hardware/Software or Support) and escalate issues with potential to impact activity completion.</li><li>Provide support to the Maritime Delivery Engineering Support Manager during Data Migration & Support stages dealing with 3rd party applications, Set to Work and external communications links.</li><li>Work as part of a team that initially comprises 5 Technical System Engineers to support the Maritime Programme.</li><li>Undertake installation activities across multi-vessel environments (Removals, Installation, Factory & Harbour Acceptance Testing) and any post-handover activities as required.</li><li>Implement software solutions across multi-vessel environments (Node Build, Assurance/Commissioning, Connect to Live/Federation, Keep Alive updates) leading towards Factory Acceptance Trials, Installation & Support Phases.</li><li>Act as Vessel Lead when nominated and ensure timely daily reports.</li><li>Maintain a Technical Knowledge Base for information sharing, fault finding & trend analysis with a consistent team approach.</li><li>Follow all aspects of the Maritime Software & Installation Builds and escalate issues to the appropriate Maritime Team Technical SMEs (Hardware, Software or Software).</li><li>Escalate Health & Safety issues to the Maritime Delivery Technical Lead (Hardware) or Software, depending on activity.</li><li>Ensure procedures & processes meet Fujitsu D&NS and Local LSO Security Directives (shipment of classified equipment, etc.) and carry out security handling requirements for MOD multi-level secure environments and data handling while safeguarding protectively marked equipment.</li><li>Identify additional training requirements in line with technical uplift for OpNET & MINERVA Nodes.</li></ul><b>Qualifications & Skills</b><ul><li>Understanding of the expected environments being delivered (Maritime & Land Deployment).</li><li>Marine Electrical Background (including understanding Electrical Power Distribution).</li><li>Hardware product knowledge (including CISCO, Riverbed, HP, Panasonic, XEROX, Epson, Dell, APC & OKI, etc.).</li><li>Engineering standards applicable to the Defence Environment (including various platform designs).</li><li>Health & Safety knowledge (COSHH, etc.).</li><li>Good communication skills.</li><li>This role requires eligibility and willingness to undergo a high level of security clearance.</li></ul><b>Recruitment</b><p>The recruitment process consists of two stages of interview.</p><p>We are a Disability Confident Employer and will offer an interview to disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role.
