As Senior Medical Affairs Manager, Product Development, you’re shaping the future of diabetes care. You’ll serve as a strategic medical leader bridging science, regulation, and business strategy to ensure products meet global unmet clinical needs, are safe, effective, and supported by robust clinical evidence. This role provides medical leadership across multiple complex programs, influencing product strategy from feasibility through regulatory approval and lifecycle management, with accountability for benefit‑risk assessment and risk mitigation decision‑making. You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy, play a visible leadership role on product development teams, and act as a trusted medical advisor to cross‑functional partners. The role requires strong strategic judgment, deep disease‑state expertise, and the ability to anticipate, assess, and communicate medical and safety risks while proactively shaping product and evidence strategies in a fast‑paced global environment.   Where you come in:

  • You lead and shape global Medical Affairs strategy across pre‑ and post‑market product development programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and clinical needs.
  • You act as a senior medical representative and trusted thought partner on complex medical device, software, and feature development initiatives, operating with minimal direction.
  • You provide medical leadership and guidance to cross‑functional partners to influence product design, clinical strategy, early claims planning, and lifecycle decisions across all customer segments including patients, caregivers, HCPs, payors, and regulators.
  • You partner closely with Clinical Affairs to deliver strategic medical input into clinical development plans, protocol design, endpoint selection, data interpretation, and data and safety monitoring board participation, enabling robust clinical claims and regulatory submissions.
  • You drive global KOL strategy and engagement through identification, cultivation, and long‑term relationship management with leading experts, academic institutions, and healthcare professionals.
  • You design and oversee advisory boards and consulting engagements, translating synthesized insights into actionable recommendations for product development and evidence strategy.
  • You provide senior medical oversight of risk management activities, including risk analyses, hazard identification, benefit‑risk assessments, and mitigation strategy development across the product lifecycle.
  • You guide and oversee scientific literature strategy, including targeted reviews, evidence generation planning, and interpretation of emerging data to support claims, risk mitigation, and innovation opportunities.
  • You ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, QMS documentation standards, and ethical and scientific best practices.
  • You represent the organization at major medical conferences, contributing to scientific exchange and strengthening the company’s external medical credibility.
  What makes you successful:
  • You hold an active license as an RN, PA, NP, Pharmacist, or possess an equivalent advanced degree.
  • You bring Medical Affairs experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device environments, with substantial involvement in product development and risk management.
  • You have deep expertise across type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes, including direct clinical experience caring for people with diabetes.
  • You demonstrate the ability to define and set medical strategies, influence cross‑functional decision‑making, and balance scientific rigor with business realities.
  • You have a proven track record of independently leading complex initiatives from concept through execution.
  • You possess exceptional oral and written communication skills, enabling credible engagement with senior internal leaders and external experts.
  • Your interpersonal skills enable you to build trusted, collaborative relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • You are comfortable operating in ambiguity, prioritizing across multiple programs, and proactively identifying risks and opportunities.

  Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 13+ years of related experience.
  • At this level a graduate degree may be expected with 6 years of related experience.
  Remote Workplace: Your location will be a home office; you are not required to live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km). If you reside within commuting distance of a Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km) a hybrid working environment may be available.
